Hanafi Fiqh is one of the major schools of Islamic jurisprudence, or Fiqh, named after its founder, Imam Abu Hanifa. It is known for its systematic and rational approach to legal reasoning. Hanafi Fiqh encompasses principles derived from the Quran, Hadith (sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad), consensus (Ijma), and analogical reasoning (Qiyas). Known for its flexibility, Hanafi scholars consider local customs and public interest in issuing legal opinions. The school covers various aspects of Islamic law, including worship, transactions, family matters, and criminal law. Hanafi Fiqh is widely followed in diverse regions, particularly in Central and South Asia, Turkey, and parts of the Balkans.
